Our Clay & Seal Process
1. Wash the Vehicle
- Start by washing the vehicle thoroughly to remove loose dirt and debris. This ensures the surface is clean and prevents scratching during the following steps.
2. Apply Iron Remover
- Spray the iron remover onto the vehicle’s paint, focusing on areas where contaminants like industrial fallout, brake dust, or rail dust may have accumulated.
- Let it dwell for a few minutes to allow the product to break down the iron particles.
- Rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove any iron remover residue.
3. Clay the Vehicle
- Lubricate the Surface. Spray a clay lubricant or a quick detailer onto a small section of the vehicle’s surface. This provides the necessary lubrication for the clay mitt to glide smoothly and avoid damaging the paint.
- Use the Clay Mitt. Using the clay mitt, gently rub over the lubricated section in a back-and-forth motion. The mitt will lift and remove contaminants like tar, overspray, and fallout.
- Check the Surface. After a few passes, wipe the area with a microfiber towel to ensure contaminants are removed. Repeat the process for the entire vehicle. If the mitt gets dirty, rinse it with water to maintain its effectiveness.
4. Rinse the Vehicle
- After claying, rinse the vehicle thoroughly to remove any excess lubricant and contaminants lifted by the mitt. Do not dry the vehicle, as the surface should remain wet for the next step.
5. Apply Sealant
- Spray the sealant directly onto the wet vehicle surface after washing. The sealant bonds to the paint as it interacts with water.
- Ensure even coverage, making sure to work in small sections.
- Rinse the vehicle again to remove any excess product and activate the sealant, providing durable protection.
6. Dry the Vehicle
- After rinsing off the sealant, dry the vehicle using a clean microfiber towel. This will help ensure the protection is evenly applied, leaving a glossy, smooth finish.
7. Final Touches
- Inspect the vehicle for any missed spots or excess residue, then wipe down once more for a clean, shiny finish.
